Configuring Employee User Defined Field Lists

Is there a way to for the information on these lists not show up in alphabetical order? Or let us order them ourselves?

Example:
Enter their Job Status we created. The order we'd like it to show up in the drop down is:
  Regular
  Exempt
  Intern

But on the dropdown list Regular shows up last. Let me set the order so Regular is the top pick. So far the best thing I can come up with is the top one has a space before the word so it shows up first.

Just an idea.
