KB720 | v17 | Timed Assessments in GyrusAim

Overview

GyrusAim provides the capability to configure assessments as timed assessments. These assessments can be associated with training or function as standalone assessments.

If a learner runs out of time before completing an assessment, they have the option to request a time reset. Upon accessing the assessment again, learners will see a message stating:
“There is no remaining time to take the assessment.”

Additionally, they will have access to a Request to Unlock action button, enabling them to send a request to unlock the timed assessment for another attempt, as shown in the screenshot below:

Supervisor and Administrator Actions for Unlock Requests

  1. Supervisor Actions:
    When a learner requests to unlock a timed assessment, the request is routed to their supervisor and appears under Manage My People > Pending Approval with the reason listed as Unlock Timed Assessment. Supervisors can:

    • Approve the request to reset the time.
    • Deny the request.
    • Add the request to the Waitlist for later review.

  1. Administrator Actions:
    Administrators can also manage unlock requests via the AI Maintenance section. An alert titled Unlock Timed Assessment is generated, where administrators have two options:

    • Unlock the timed assessment to reset the timer for the learner.
    • Ignore the request to leave the timer unchanged.
