KB719 | v17 | Managing Self-Registration via Email Domains in GyrusAim

Overview

GyrusAim allows administrators to control who can self-register by specifying permitted email domains. This feature enhances security and ensures only authorized learners can register themselves.

Configuring Self-Registration with Email Domains

Follow these steps to configure self-registration:

  1. Access the Self-Registration Settings
    Navigate to:
    Configuration > Security > Self-Registration

  2. Enable Manual Email Validation
    Within the Self-Registration page, activate the Manual Email Validation option, as shown in the screenshot below:

  1. Add Permitted Domains

    • Use the provided field to specify the domains of learners allowed to self-register.
    • Enter each domain without including "@" or suffixes like .com, .org, etc.
    • For multiple domains, separate them with commas.
      • Example: example, mycompany, university
  2. Save Your Changes
    Click the Save button to finalize your configuration.

Notes:

  • Domain Format: Only include the base domain (e.g., "example" for example.com).
  • Validation: Double-check the domains entered to avoid inadvertently blocking legitimate users.
  • Security Tip: Regularly review and update the list of permitted domains to maintain control over who can self-register.
