KB688 | v17 | QR Code Use to Track Attendance

Summary

This article is for GyrusAim v17.

In addition to manually tracking class attendance with a sign-in sheet, Gyrus has added functionality for Instructors to track attendance using user-specific QR Codes. Scanning the QR Codes may be done with a scanner or any mobile device within the Instructor Panel.

Configuration

You must first enable QR Codes in GyrusAim in order to use QR Codes to track attendance. To do this, navigate to Configuration > Application > QR Code to enable to QR Code Module:

QR Codes

QR Codes for each user may be found in Employee Person Information or within the user Profile, as shown in the screenshots below.

Tracking Attendance

The Instructor may track attendance within the Instructor Panel. Click on the ellipsis (vertical three dots) within the Uncompleted ILT Schedule Panel and select Attendance:

Select the date of the class in which you plan on taking attendance:

Select the "Start Scanning" action button. Use a scanner or mobile device to scan the user's QR Code:

Once the QR Code is scanned, the attendee will appear in the list as present:
